Wide Diamond Chair

$1,500.00

Harry Bertoia design for Knoll. Chrome. 1952 design. This is a larger/wider version of the popular Diamond chair. In my opinion the wide version is more elegant.

Harry spent 8 years creating his wire chrome series of seating objects. His goal was to create a see-through architectural object that could also offer functional seating. This ethos is very similar to Isamu Noguchi’s Akari light sculpture series. Akari translates from Japanese as “light“ - both in weight and luminosity. Weightless and glowing. Two goals are perfectly realized in a single object.

Condition: the shocks are still in good condition. No major signs of wear or rust on the chrome. No rubber feet gliders on the legs.

Dimensions: 45" W x 28.25" D x 31.5" H. 15.25" seat height.
